Dripless seal

I have read many good things about the dripless seal on this thread but one issue I am concerned about is freezing in the winter while the boat is in the water. Is there any risk of the seal freezing and cracking the rubber bellows causing an influx of water? I plan to leave my boat in the water next winter and would install one of these seals if it is compatible with wet storage in the winter in a bubbled slip. Thanks

Are you hooked up to AC?

Bill: If you are concerned you could always put a *Golden Rod* in the compartment where the shaft seal is located. This should keep enough heat in there to prevent any freezing. I would not think that this would be a problem. There is water all the way up the shaft tube to the packing gland anyway and you do not have any problems with it freezing.
