planning on removing the factory stove and installing a 19"tv in this corner instead, what I have is a mount bracket"multi swivel" for the tv but need to drill through the wall above the stove that seperates the cabin from cockpit anything I need to know maybe whats in this area prior to drilling ? the anchor system from the kit are lag bolts which I will be changing to a through the entire wall bolt system and wondering now as the "bolt" part will be on the cockpit wall what if anything can be done to dress up the bolts for cosmetic looks and moreso the safety aspect from leaning into these and not getting scratched or poked...

It is a Double Wall

The space between the liner and the cockpit wall varies. There are stainless molly-bolts available that are probably a better alternative.

Mounting TV shelf.

Is this picture like yours? And you want to bolt one of those swivel-arm TV stands to the bulkhead above the stove? On my H37C the space between the inner liner and the hull would be too thin for molly bolts. Probably true of yours. And the wall thickness would not hold the weight, especially since you could not get a backing plate in there.

Even from the outside you will need at the least some large fender washers. If your mount is like mine it is about six inches on the vertical between the bolt holes. I would use a backing plate, about 2" by 8". Then you could cover it with something. I would hollow out the back of a piece of plastic teak. Scraps are pretty cheap from PlasTeak. See my dorade box tops.

It looks like you will have to shim the inside to get a level shelf.

Hollow Space

In the bottom four or five inches of the aft bulkhead above the galley thereis a void that is continuous through the the overhead in the aft berth. As you move up the space between the liner and the outer shell decreases to where there is no space at the top. The bulkhead is not flat there is an angle in it so you will want to take that into consideration as well.

Iwas concerned about the thickness of the liner as well but for a flat panel TV it would not be an issue.

yes the pic is the same started to think it over and figure after crawling through the shrink wrap I could send the stainless bolts through from the outside in and use the "bolt" on the inside think their is room with the bracket to make it work ,you have any pics of yours installed?

Yes, you will definitely have the bolt head outside. Use a stainless bolt with a flat head and countersink the backing plate. That will give you a flat surface to more easily cover. That picture is not my boat. I have one of those arms inside the boat for the radar. I can swing the display so that it can be viewed from the companionway. Simply removed the TV tray and mounted the display.
