drilling a drain hole in macgregor 26

I am thinking to drill a small hole for drain in my boat I do not know if is a good idea and how to do it to be sure will not be a leak. Any ideas?

Why would you want to drill a hole....

in a perfectly good boat? Are you talking about putting in a through hull for a bilge pump? If so, get the through hull, measure the size, drill the hull and bed it in 3M 4200.

hmmmm......

a drain hole? you mean like to drain the water out while it's on the trailor?
