any ideas on how i can rig this pictured sail?Have a 23.5 with roller furling jib.Sail is .75 oz.hanked on drifter.Thought about removing hanks,running a 1/4 line from tack to head to act as forestay behind jib. Since i have jib halyard free to hoist.Solo sail mostly ,looking for easy way to use it

If you remove the hanks, how will your drifter be attached to the line forestay? If you have a place to attach the Tack, just use the 1/4" line as the "new" forestay with sail pre-attached. Hoist it and see how she behaves. I'd worry about the 1/4" line getting tangled with other stuff when you hoist/lower. You would probably be better off with an asymmetrical spinnaker - lots of posts in the archives that describe what hardware is needed and how to use one.

Edit: You could have a sailmaker sew on some high strength tape on the luff and fly it like the Doyle UPS - just attach the Tack and raise it using your available jib halyard.

This is done in dinghy's a lot - they use a wire-luff sail on a halyard as the only forestay!
Buy cheap little plastic shackles and run 1/8" stainless wire inside all the shackles. At the top of the sail, firmly attach the upper eye. Hoist until the wire is taught, then then tie the tack of the sail to the lower eye, giving the sail some tension when the wire is taught but shielding the sail from the full tension in the wire (which for a sail cut to be hanked-on, is much higher than the desired luff tension)
