Ok...forgive me for my ignorance, but I just bought a 170 this summer. I keep my boat in the water at a dock all of the time (approximately two months, now), and every time I take it out (only a few times now), it drains for a LONG time. Am I supposed to leave the drain open or closed, while sailing???? Just read a few old posts from a 146, and they talk about the boat filling up, due to a clogged drain screen??

Do I need to make some major repair, or just leave the drain open while sailing????

call me tonight. I am local to you. I meant to call last night but the wife threw that slip out with your number due to cleaning for a neighbor's baby shower she was hosting. Or resend your phone number to me. Sorry about that. I retreated to my little corner last night with all the cackaling hens in the house. Oops. Sorry ladies.

If it is not the centerboard trunk housing then you may not have the drain bail transom plug all the way in. It also may be the drain bail plug attachment has come loose and needs to be removed, recalked and reinstalled. \

If you need to resend phone number, send to davecondon@mindspring.com or give me a holler. Look in the phone book
