Doyle stack pak lazy jack system

I have the original Doyle stack pak lazy jack system on my Hunter 1997 340.

The stack pac is so old and worn it needs to be replaced.

I have never removed the sail and do not know how the stack pac material is attached to it.

My 2 questions are:
How is it attached to the sail, can it be removed
Where can I get it replaced

I live in NJ.

The StackPack is sewn onto the sail. There in an interior dacron membrane and the outer protective cover both of which are attached to the sail. You must remove the entire sail and StackPack as one unit. Most sail lofts will be able to replace the cover based on the original design. There is a Doyle loft in City Island and Huntington New York. They will probably be more receptive to helping you being that it's their product.

I don't understand why someone would want a stack pack that was attached to the sail, maybe there is a good reason. The lazy bag that I have (Neil Pryde) happens to be self contained and slides on to the boom with sail slugs. That leaves the foot of the sail completely independent of the bag. Its actually possible with a few minor modifications to the bag to remove it or the sail separately, much like the bag is a boom cover.
Either way, the bag is probably going to wear out before the sail, due to its constant exposure to the elements.

I think it is a better setup with the cover connected to the boom and most I see are that way here in Fl.
