Does anyone have any experience with this? Some kind of a combination of a sail, sail cover, and lazy jack. Saw it on the Doyle web site when I was looking to send my sail in for repair. Wanted to get the bagging effect caused by the shrinking line on the 97 H26 mains fixed. It was discussed on this site a few weeks ago. Doyle says they will do a conversion for about 1/3 of what the new sail would be.

I thought it costs about $100-150?
Dick: I thought that I read that the cost to replace the bolt rope is about $100-150. It should be a couple of hours labor and materials. How much are they quoting you?

Repair was $75
I had asked for a quote on repair and they said they would do it for $75.I've been looking for ways to make single handing easier. This sounded like it might help and wasn't all that much more.

Dick: I think I understand. The price quoted was for the repair and the Stack Pack (correct). If you really want something for single handing, look at the Dutchman. It is the only system that flakes the sail and controls it when you drop your main. All you have to do is tidy it up and put on the ties. Warning: It is not advised for an old sail. You should install this on a sail that still has some stiffness left in the cloth and it can be easily trained to flake on the boom. You cannot use it if you do not have a topping lift too.

Conversion and repair $675
That is why I'm trying to see if anyone has used this.Maybe it is too new? Price for package new with two reef points and 4 full battons is over $1800.

Works well
A friend put a new set of Doyle sails on his Catalina 30 and added the Stack Pack. It is wonderful. He has is main dropped, stowed and covered in about 5 minutes (maybe less) single handed. Fair winds, Tom

Dick, a friend has had a Doyle Stack Pack on his C & C for about 10 years and loves it. The cover is always right there ready to zip up when the sail is dropped through the built in Lazy Jacks. No need to cut holes in the sail and make cover alterations as with the Dutchman.

I'm not sure you need it.
I just make a pocket with the lower portion of the sail and roll my sail into it. Then I bungee it down. on my small H235 it takes about two or three minutes. The key is having a good bungee set up. I have three eyes with a long bungee cord running through them on one side f the boom. On the other side I have hooks on the boom between the eyes. Once the sail is rolled I pull the bungee into the two hook and everything is secure. The stack pac and its competitors are a dream for boats 30 and above but I can't see putting it on a trailer sailor. It might be worth it if you sailed daily and kept you boat in a slip all year.
