Hello all -- Threw a batten the other day and now wish to get a complete replacement set. I've looked all over (including the Doyle site and the owners manual) and can't find any info on the number and dimensions of the battens. The boat is over 1.5hours away and trying to get these sourced before my next sailing trip. Anyone know the specs?

Unless a fellow owner chimes in, you will have to call a Doyle loft tomorrow

Suggest gluing the rubber end caps on the new battens, helps prevent damage to ends of pockets.

:plus: on buying a piece of stock, bring a hack saw with you to the boat and cut your own. And also :plus: on getting the end caps. If you have a cordless dremel, that is one of the best ways to cut the stock. You can then round the corners off a little and then taper the edges a little bit to make every thing smooth and easy.

Circling back here. Got the battens measured on the orginal Doyle mainsail. From top to bottom, 34", 58", 37", 38". All are 5/8" wide, 1/8" thick, and lengths are approximate. Never got a response from Doyle Loft.

You can buy the 5/8 inch batten in long lengths and cut them to size. You can sand or bevel the ends. That is what I use to do. To keep them from coming out, I use to drill one end in the batten. There take a hot iron of course fin point tip and melt a small hole on both batten pocket sides to match the hole in the end of the batten. I would then tie the batten in place to keep it from coming out of the batten pocket
