Has anyone a comment on the performance of these cruising spinnakers that are being offered for sale this month from Doyle? I want to get a spinnaker for next season and wondered if I should consider this one rather than go to a local sail maker. We have a Hunter 320. Thanks for any info.

cruising spinnaker

On my previous 1992 h33.5 I had a cruising spinnaker made by Hild Sails (a local sailmaker on City Island) and it was superb. The small satndard fractional rig jib on these boats makes a sail like this very useful, at least in light air. I am now ordering a triradial cruising spinnaker for my new h410, probably from Ulmer Kolius, whose price for sail including sleeve is about identical to the HOW special Doyle price. Can't comment on specific sailmakers, but buy one, it is what these rigs need. s/v Breathless

Happy with an APC on our h27

We bought a Doyle APC for Lady Lillie this summer. This is the real answer for reaching or running in light to moderate air. As advertised, we can hold a close reach in light air (3-7 knots). We took bids from 4 lofts, then chose the loft who offered the best, local, service and advice - the one had a lesser design, but others seemed equivalent. As a bonus, the rigger associated with the Doyle loft in Cleveland got the new halyard up the mast for us.

One more advantage

Buying the sale sail from HOW funds the continued operation of this web site. Just a thought I'd mention that. :)
