Hi All, We just got back from our annual cruise on our C-310 to Downeast Maine and I finished uploading the pictures to our online photo galleries. Feel free to have a look around. There are 8 pages of Maine Coast photographs with lots of beautiful boats, sunsets, sunrises & other sailing related stuff. Sailing combines two of my hobbies photography and sailing gotta love that... Click on "Related Link" or below to see the pics.. http://www.pbase.com/mainecruising/penobscot_bay_2006&page=all -A.C. Superb photos

Are you a professional photographer? Regardless of the answer, these are some of the best photos we've seen posted here. I love the effort that has gone into composition, use of a tripod, sharp (where appropriate) focus, late evening and/or early morning lighting, etc. Very well done!! Man, I want to go back to Maine. Nice pix, A.C.

We go to Maine about every other year. Next summer is our next trip. We spend 4-5 weeks and have seen most of the places in your pictures. I almost think I would like to live up there. I wonder how severe the winters are?......

I'm not a professional photographer..

It's just a hobby I enjoy. Although I do take photographs for a local boating magazine here in Maine but I doubt that pushes me into the pro category. I have a lot to learn before I'm that good.... I wake up early so photography is the perfect hobby for that. The lighting is only good during the early morning and in the evening when the sun is low. I try and avoid taking pictures between 9:00 & 4:00 but sometimes you just can't avoid it and the resulting light is poor... http://www.pbase.com/mainecruising/penobscot_bay_2006&page=all

This past weekend?

Were these photos taken over LD weekend? We were kayaking in Muscongus, and the weather to our NE looked like it was better. We had overcast and some showers. Never seen Hell's Half Acre look so good! Great photos! I have to start carrying a digital with me again. I don't think you can take a bad picture in mid-coast Maine-it's all spectacular!

A.C. - You're too modest ...

Many of these photos belong in a gallery! One thing is for sure, I have a yearning to sail our boat up to Maine ... and bring a camera! These are an inspiration!

I agree with Scott and others

A.C., your photos are beautiful. We were in Maine in early August. Camping in Acadia then a few days on Monhegan Island. Spectacular. I only had a poiint and shoot Olympus with me, which has always been adequate, but now I am thinking of upgrading to a digital SLR. Your pictures are an inspiration!! Thanks for taking me back to Maine.
