Down East? How's it going.

Looks like a rough night off New England and actually south as far as Cape Hatteras. For me, the Cross Sound Ferry canceled its service, causing me to have to drive around from New London to Greenport on my way back from Vermont - where it wasn't that big a deal and the skiing was quite good. But for others, Boston and "Down East" it looks a lot worse with weather.gov showing 45 knots and more. Did I mention the unseasonable cold air?
Reports from the front?
Best wishes for mariners who are exposed to this. This can't be a fun 48 hours.

we're a little inland, but some parts of the coast around Boston got 20+ inches of power before the snow stopped - then the winds moved in, gusts to 70mph! the drifts are huge! Maine got less snow, and it was mostly a coastal hit

Here off Bald Head Island a few people were rescued off of their boat Saturday. They said the wind hit sixty knots. While there were high winds, I'm not sure about the sixty part.

Being me, if I were pulled off of the boat for weather, I would swear it was blowing 100..
