An asymetrical cruising spinnaker came with Windward Hull when I bought her. It has never been used. It didn't come with a sock though. I just bought a swivel block to put on the anchor roller for the tack line and replaced the spare halyard so I can raise it up and try it out. For continued use though, I want a dousing sock. Where have you bought these from (purchased separatly from the sail) and what was the approx cost. My Doyle loft's price was just > $300. You've got to be able to get one cheaper than that! Spinnaker Sock

Check thesailwarehouse.com web site. They have them listed in their catalog at $5.50 per foot based on the leech of your sail. They are a little spendy. This is probably the best price you will find. Sean- Carnaby Street

Chutescoop....

I have been shopping around for one also. So far the best deal appears to be the "Chutescoop" offered in the 2000 West Marine catalogue, pg 853 and the Boat/US catalogue, pg. 268. A 30 ft chutescoop from WestMarine is $133.99, from Boat/US $127.99. If there is a store near you, go there to buy it and save the shipping. I have found that either store will match the other's price. What I don't know is how well the Chutescoop performs relative to the sailmakers' dousing socks, so I am anxious to hear any feedback on this product. Good luck.

Thanks

Well...I'm going to fly it on a light air day this week without the sock and make sure all the other expensive hardware is working fine...then go buy the chutescoop. I'll report back on how well that works after I get it. Thanks, Mike Elmore Windward Hull C28 - Hull #7
