I am on board until it gets just before that point of no return. A lot of us have rooms in the Nugget to wait it out. When it's done you'll have to stop over for a celebratory beer. We are normally at the end of CDock where all of the masts are. Moved to behind CG station and bulkhead for a little wind protection. Good luck!

No Damage

We have sat out even summer storms on floating docks and if the local protection is not adequate, the docks can develop severe motion and exacerbate the situation, including adding additional chafe to the lines. In addition, if the hardware comes loose that connects to the pilings, the docks and the boats float away. After 14 named storms and who knows how many local storms, floating docks are our least favorite and IMO the most vulnerable. But if that is all you have, be sure and secure the boat to the nearest pilings and not the docks. Chcuk

Must be that other places aren't quite as secure. This is my second hurricane at this spot and the floating docks weather the storms fine. Bad weather is tough no matter where you are. No damage for me again, and I'm certainly grateful for that. Hope you all have fared well.

i have seen floating docks float away in storm surge in kali, and i have seen em behave and stay put. i dont trust em...pilings can be hazardous to wealth...
