Hi everyone,

Me and my boyfriend just bought a Hunter 34, 1985 and it is in another country for the moment. Since we won't be getting it before June 2013, I need to know some measurements to get my things ready.

Someone please tell me what are the inside measurements of the double SS sink. I would like to install a cutting board on the top of one of them for cooking.

Thanks,

Temporel

Welcome to the group ! I am not at the boat now but will be in the next day or so and I can measure for you.. There are several H 34 folks here and one may have the measurements already.. If I don't see an answer, I will provide some numbers..
Again, Welcome aboard.. There is a lot of information for your boat here..

If you call Dave at the SBO store, he may already have the board for the sink.

Good morning kloudie1,

Thanks a lot for answering me so quickly. I'll wait for you to get me the measurements of the double SS sink.

If I have other concerns, I'll be in touch with you.

Have a nice day,

The sink bowls on my H34 are 13.5" x 9.5". I just made a cutting board to cover one of them. I used a 15 x 12" board and attached wood cleats to the under side to keep it from sliding off. The distances to the outside of these are 13 and 9". I haven't tried it on the sink yet – tomorrow.

Hi Noel,

Thank you very much for the measurements.

I will do the same unless you write me back and tell me it's not working, but I'm confident it will do the job.

Have a nice sailing season.

I am looking at my sink right now and have slightly different measurements..To cover the entire sink top, a board 24.5" by 16.5" will do it..This rests on the flat part of the finishing flange.. There is a downward bevel where the sink rests on the cabinet top. That downward bevel is about 1/4" wide..I wouldn't think you'd want to have the board go out that far.. To cover one half, 12 1/4" by 16.1/2" will do it. The bowls are tapered from top to bottom The top is 9 and 7/8" by 13 and 7/8".. The finishing lip on top of the cabinet.. the space from the outer edge of the flange to the bowl is 1, 1/4" in the fore and aft flange and 1,3/4" in the port and starboard flange.. The outboard corner radii are about 1".. Hope this helps
I really like the sink on this boat.. nice and deep (10") and drains on both tacks..

Danielle,

Due to a change of plans I didn't get to the boat until today. The board I described earlier (15x12") does fit my sink. I only wanted to cover one bowl. Here are pictures so you can see what I have done.
