An idea for a better nights rest
I have a h26, if your boat is like mine, the table will not drop down level with the seats. What I've done is raise the table to the roof and drill another hole in the post to hold it up. I'm still on the planning stage on the next part, but so far the plan is to make two inserts that go on each side of the compression post, and extend back to where the galley begins and fill in the u space that's left with the table gone. Coming up with cushions to fit the space will be the hardest part (could probably make them if custom cushions are to pricy). When I'm not using them I will put over the seat backs (maybe with velcro) or stow them in the aft berth somewhere. Keep in mind of course, that the centerboard line is running through the post. Also make damn sure to clean the holes in the compression post so the burr's don't snag this line. (common sense) I don't think the extra holes will compromize the integrety of the compression post but I could be wrong. Even if you don't build the inserts, its still nice to be able to get to the huge storage compartments in the bow with the table out of the way. Any ideas on these (inserts)? Hope this helps. Big Curt
