Good Afternoon All...
Just soliciting some quickie advice, I am planning on sailing in the Door County, WI area this weekend, looking forward to it. I have been to Door County many times, but only on the land, I have never had the chance to get out on the water, save the Ferry to Washington Island.
Does anyone have any "Must See's" in Door County on the water. We are going to launch form Sister Bay...the plan was to visit: Sister Islands, Horseshoe Island, and Chambers island. Depending on the winds, I want to try to get to Rock Island...it is going to be a short in and out, in by Friday noonish and out Sunday noonish.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

You chose a great place to vacation on a boat. I used to live in Wisconsin, and sailed over to Door County many times from Hi Seas Marina in Oconto. Chambers Island is cool to go to. Egg Harbor has a nice little city marina to stay in, and so does Fish Creek. If you like going to all of the shops, there's hundreds in Door County. Every town has at least 50-75 shops. the islands off of Peninsula State Park will be crawling with power boaters in the daytime, but if you want to anchor out at night, it will be pretty quiet.
There's lots of restaurants to eat at, unfortunately not many really good ones. They change hands so fast that I can't even recommend one besides Al Johnson's for breakfast. (They might still have the goats that eat the grass on the roof)
There's lots to do and so much more to see, that a weekend will not be enough. Consider going back another time for a week. It still won't be enough time. On your way up, there's a cool maritime museum in Sturgeon Bay on the south side of the old bridge. It's well worth stopping at if you have time.

Have Fun,
Dave
