It is very disturbing that the sign did not explain what a P.F.D. is in long, small font type that extended the entire length of the dock. Heck, someone could confuse it with a PDF!

THAT sign actually has rounded edges! I can tell you about sharp edges ... I was jumping the battery in my daughter's car in a school parking lot. After bending over the engine compartment, I straightened up and put a 3 inch gash in my forehead ... when people ask me about the scar ... I tell them it was "A sign from above" .....

P.F.D is an abbreviation for Pet Floatation Device according to Practical Sailor magazine. So the sign means your cat has to wear a PFD when jumping from that dock.
