I want to isntall a couple of extra instrumants in the cockpit of my boat and hate drilling holes in the hull and topsides. I could get one of those nav pods, but find them rather expensive. What other clever ways have other boat owners come up with? I am sure there are lots of original methods out there.

No drill holes

If you mount anything on your binnacle you can thread wire through the tubing and down to the engine compartment If mounting on outside of lazzarette(sp?) wire can be brought down to engine compartment or quarterberth inside laz

No hole instruments

Colin; Not sure what you want, but here's what I did. I have a plotter/radar mounted at the helm, along with the usual wind instruments. However, ther was no oil pressure or voltage gauges. I wanted to mount them under the wind instrument box and made my own pods out of PVC end caps with teak faces. If you like, contact me at svmoondance@hotmail.com, and I'll send some pics.
