Don't Try This On Your Own Boat....

To be clear, I was making more reference to making way in such hurricanes, (not tropical storms), where the decks are swept clear of everything at 90 mph winds. I didn't even make any judgement calls on the dolt that shot this film, although it's easy enough to see how he fared.

That about the competent sailor is almost a direct quote from a heavy weather sailing book, maybe Chris Parker but don't hold me to that. Very eloquent writing. Convinced me. Plus I have sat through a couple dirt side.

Ever notice how at nearly every hurricane that comes along there's generally a group of mostly intoxicated kids going to have a "hurricane party", and ride out the storm. Oooooooooook. How many of them have you seen that said this was their second hurricane party? .......

Hey Maine, is there a link to the video?
It's missing on my forum page.
I had the same problem. I have just had my flash drive reprogramed and lost my Adobe Flash Player in the process. You may need to download the Adobe Flash Player. It's free and relatively easy.

Hey Patterson, that was my Mom and Dad you're talking about! But yes, H. Connie did convince them that Willoughby Spit was a poor place to sit out a blow.

Did you download the Adobe Flash Player or the reader?
The way that I learned I needed to to that was when I double click on the icon that said the link is missing, it said I needed to download the player.

I guess I would qualify.. Moved to Miami in '66 and had a hurricane party every time one would come by. Even did one for Andrew as it passed directly over our house. House didn't fare too well (or the boat in the yard or cars in the driveway), but the party was great (and yes, there was a certain amount of alcohol involved!). :)

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks for the link Shemandr. I wanted to see the video to compare notes..
I've ridden out two in the 80's, but I lived on the boat. No damage or injury.

Sailm8, I downloaded Flash Player but no luck yet. Thanks for the suggestion though.
