Don: Do you mean that you do not use a Rancor, 2 micron primary filter at all and only the 2ndary filter. If this is correct what do you put in its place for the primary and the fuel cup that can be used to drain off water, which I have never had to use in my 8 years with the boat. Also have you ever had a fungal problelm? Do you use fuel additives? How much fuel do you use in a year? Do you top off or just sail all year and add fuel when low?
