Does the 170 make water?

I went down to the marina today, where my 170 has been dry-sailing since October. We took the cover off, and everything topside looked dry, but when we tipped the trailer we got several gallons of water out of the inside of the hull. We checked the cup holders. They were still sealed and the drain hoses hooked up (at least to the point we could effortlessly run a fine wire down the drain hoses). The only holes in the hull were the holes on the forward bulkhead where the hinge for the hard cuddy cover would have been screwed in. What's up? Does this boat MAKE water? I'm a bit nervous, since I'm planning on keeping the boat in the water (not water in the boat) this season. Has anyone else had the same experience? Any thoughts out there?

Tom; Please call Greg Emerson at Hunter and get my phone number and call me at my new location. I sold the boat to you and we need to discuss. I think I know the problem Crazy Dave

Eureka!

I talked to the techs at JY last week and found the problem. There is a crack in the upper (deck) piece of the boat, right where the plastic becomes vertical after the seam. Unfortunately, it's right under the pintle in the transom, at the absolute lowest point in the stern. Any water that hit the deck instead of running off the deck ran into the crack and inside the hull. Naming the devil is only half the exorcism; we still need to fix it, and I have zero experience with patching either fiberglass or plastic. Still be glad to talk to you, though, since we still need to get it fixed. (And my cruising spinnaker came last week, too.)
