Does latex paint remover exist?

The prior owner of my boat slapped a coat of latex (blasphemy!) house paint on the topsides and decks. I know regular paint remover will take it off, but also eat through the gelcoat underneath. Since I know latex has different properties from other types of paint, I was wondering if there is some purpose made latex remover that would take it off easier than me sanding it down. Anybody run into anything like this before? Thanks in advance! -M

Peel Away

Consider Peel-Away. They have a formulation that does not touch the gelcoat. Many have used it to remove bottom paint. Check the archives.

Goof Off

Try Goof Off in a small spot. They claim it will remove dried laytex paint.
