Does anyone knows Bene sailboat water tank is made from?

Hi everybody,
I have Beneteau oceanis 390, 1987.
I have leakage problems from water tanks. Unfortunately, I didnt find information about the material that the tanks made from. If its Polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylen etc.
If someone knows, I will be appreciated.

aren't them tank made in between the structure of the boat, like they are part of the hull, so i would say fiberglass but i might be wrong.

Many water tanks in Beneteaus of this time frame were made of 'fiberglass' (polyester fiberglass). This is NOT a good idea as the styrene in the fiberglass never fully cures and emits 'chemical fragments' into the water, continuously. This makes drinking such water potentially harmful.

If the tank is indeed fiberglass .... To remediate such a hazardous condition, the inside of the tank should be 'lined' with a LOW AMINE epoxy that is 'certified' for use with POTABLE (drinking) water. Since your are located in Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, I would seek out an epoxy that is certified / CE "safe for use with drinking water", etc. from the Eurozone.
DO NOT use standard grade 'boat building', etc. epoxy ... MUST be 'certified' for use with POTABLE water.

Even with an epoxy 'liner' I would recommend the use of a carbon filled 'filter' on the water distribution system / piping / hoses to chemically strip-out the low emissions or low 'leachables' from epoxy ... be sure to change the filter regularly.

Thanks for the information.
It seems that its not fiberglass. It looks like plastic. So, I also wrote to Beneteau.

Generally we are not using the water inside as a drinking water, but we have also "jabsco aqua filter" before tap.
Anyway, as soon as I receive an information from Beneteau, I will write on the topic.
