I just bought a new Benny 343 and it has a noticable list to port...anybody else have this problem? Also, nobody in Hawaii will make a Bimini & Dodger for my 343..Ive written to Beneteau and they havent replied. Has anybody else had a custom dodger/bimini made for their 343? If so, can you please share the company info that made it? I figure they'll have the measurements so I can order it to similar specs and install it myself. Any thoughts on this?

No list to my knowledge

Had a chance to spend 4 days on one and didn't notice a list at all. I will say that the water and holding tanks were empty and she was bare below decks other than the standard equipment. I'd check to see where the fuel, water and holding tanks are located. Chances are one of them is causing the issue. I had a First 310 several years ago and it was sensitive to how much fluid was in each tank. Good luck.

Dave, they all list one way or the other

The 423 goes to starboard, the 393 goes to port, the 473 is down by the stern and I guess the 343 goes to port. Whoever calculates the trim on these boats should be fired. :) Rick I http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beneteau393/ beneteau393 : Beneteau393 Group

321 to Port

....and the 321 lists to port. Centerline water tank (in bow) full, stb side holding tank 1/2 full (makes no difference full or empty), fuel tank (under transom step) slightly to stb full, large portside cockpit locker with a few bumpers and cleaning supplies. Rick is right, whomever has the final say in configurations should be fired. Ever see a Catalina list one way or the other? Not that I've seen.

Welcome to Beneteau

My 2001, 331 came with a port list and a bow that dipped below the bootstripe when the water tank was more than half full. You either live with it or try to balance the boat with additional equipment to help compensate. Listing problems do seem to be more prevelant with all Beneteau models. My advice to anyone looking to buy a new boat is to examine your prospective boat model in the water before you buy it. If you are at the boat show, look at the interior and see where most of the equipment is installed. On my boat, the galley, microwave, electrical panel, refrigerator, air conditioning unit, and lazerette are all on the port side. I wish the design groups at Beneteau took more consideration into how their interior layouts impacted how their boats looked sitting in the water.

Catalina list

"Ever see a Catalina list one way or the other? Not that I've seen." Tim, Catalina has all the same list problems as other boats. I had a 34' Catalina and it not only had a list, but Catalina had engineering drawings specifying where and how many copper ingots should be placed to offset the list. Load the other side of the boat to offset the list and get over it. Jim
