Any advice about purchasing a dodger at a reduced price? Is is possible to find a used dodger for a boat that has never had a dodger? Do we need to purchase one full price, they seem quite costly. Anywhere along the MA coast would be convenient for us.

I doubt you will find a used dodger. I used Indy Canvas for all new canvas on my 30. Had great success and incredible prices!

Low Budget Dodger

It's unusual to find a used dodger for the same boat as every boat design necessitates a custom frame. One relatively low cost option is to order one online from Island Nautical - I received one for my Catalina 36. Although it took a little doing to install I was pleased with the end result and the price was much less than a custom one. Best of luck,Trevor

Used Dodger might create dodgy expenses

I contemplated purchasing a used dodger at a marine consignment store here in North Vancouver, BC. The sales chap warned me away from it - we've become friends - as the repairs to the dodger, replacing older windows, might drive up the price to very close to a new one.Same with Epirps that are used; most will require a new battery sooner than latter and once you factor in the very expensive cost of replacing some brands batteries, that deal of an Epirp isn't so hot any more.
