Dodger
I doubt the small canvas shops keep the patterns, I know the guy that did mine doesn't. No room to store the bulky patterns.I don't recall finding mail order sources for dodgers either, very bulky, very boat specific. But here's a idea. The HOW Chandlery does custom Bimini's. Get a small one made up to your specs. Add heavy duty zippers to the forward and side edges. Make up plastic "windows" to zip on, snaps to hold the bottom edges down and you have a California style dodger with fully removable glass. Would require some sewing and canvas (plastic) work on your part, but might be doable.I think Don Casey's book on canvas repair includes making dodgers. You might want to consider a complete do-it-yourself job. I've seen how my canvas guy does it, it's more art than science, and a lot of labor.A final thought might be asking if anyone has an old dodger for an H-33 for sail. You wouldn't know the condition or size, but it would give you a frame, the canvas could be replaced at a later time. My old dodger just sold through a local consignment shop.Just some thoughts.Dale Baker, formerly resident of Fussa Shi, Tokyo Prefecture
