I need to add a dodger and bimini to my Oday 25. I would rather avoid spending $1500+ on new ones, especially since we may be upgrading to a larger boat next year. Does anyone know of used or inexpensive ones for sale (needing repair is OK), or sources to look for them? Are there plans/patterns to make them? If I am forced to go with new, any advice on features and/or good places to get them from? Thanks.

Island Nautical

Island Nautical (Indodger) is a builder which has ready-made patterns for dodgers and biminis on hand. Frame and all the two of them will far exceed $1,500 so if you are pretty certain you will be changing boats soon then it may not be a good economic move. However if you live in an area where dodgers and biminis greatly enhance the value of a boat then it may be a good move, dollar wise. If you do go with Island Nautical then deal with them directly. They have a web site (search on Island Nautical) and phone numbers to call. They have very good support at the time you self install and the kits come with all the hardware plus directions you will need to install the kits. Good luck and what are you thinking of upgrading to?

Dodgers...

A guy we met this past summer said he found a place like in Minn. or that area but the name escapes me. Something very generic like Marine canvass or covers. Sorry, I just can't recall but try the various webb searches. They make everything up based on your boat's specs. and are supposedly very careful about fitting and correct w/o hassles, he told me. Plus, for his dodger, bimini and main cover all in a beautiful deep blue. it was around $1500 so you might get it fairly cheap but need to search hard. These places are out there. Sorry, I can't be more help!!
