I'm thinking of installing 110v dockside power to my 260. Has anyone tried it before? How much exspense is involved, and most important, where whould one place the dist. panel and how do you route the wires to the outlets. Appreciate any help you guys can give me.

My 2 cents worth

I have a 98 H26 – so I assume it’s similar to your 260. I put the electric panel on the aft storage area (the battery compartment is on the port side, your head nearly hits the compartment door on the starboard side when your laying down). That’s a good placement because just above that (inside the compartment area) is where the back end of the outlet will be (near the outboard motor well – keep it up high though). They say it’s important to keep the distance between the outlet and the fuse panel; short (it’s an unfused circuit until it hits the panel). Also, that’s a good area to mount the battery charger – and yes, you want a dual or triple channel marine charger. I put an outlet just in front of the galley on the face of the bench seat. You just have to snoop around for a wiring path. You’ll find one. Good luck.
