See the attached pic from the 'Outing' post. Where and how are other readers locating Fenders and tying up at the dock? My experience has been with small power boats which have straighter sides allowing use of the boat cleats. The 170 has quite a curve to the sides making effective and secure placement a little tougher. I scratched her up a bit on a windy day. Comments appreciated! Joe

Docking fenders/ chainplate/ swivel

Hi Joe, I like to tie the forward dock fender to the chainplate (to which the upper and lower shrouds are attached), and the aft fender line wrapped around the mainsheet cam cleat swivel on the floor (sole) of the cockpit. I use 1/4" Sta-Set. See photo attached-- it shows the relative relation of the fenders along the sides. Best, Mike G. Alachua, FL

Sta-Set brand

Joe, Sorry for the non-explainer! That's New England Ropes' "Sta-Set" line. It's their brand name for a mid-grade braided line, usable for sheets, outhauls, etc.! Mike

Thanks Mike. Your's looks like a good setup. I'll give it a go tomorrow...looks like the Storms here in the N.E. are over for a while. Thx, Joe
