Tom, I have a guy that is really good, friendly and trustworthy. Works for a company out of Newport but lives in Garden Grove so I have to use him only after hours like on weekends. I plan on having him come out in the next month and help me do a full service and just teach me how to do it all myself.
He's a nice guy and a good mechanic. If you like, I can ask him if he wants to do your boat too.

By the way. I was having starter problems as well. It would click but not turn over. I would have to turn the key again, sometimes as many as 4-5 times to get it to run. Not sure if it was the solenoid, brushes or armature, and fearing it would fail when I needed it most, I replaced the starter.
The new starter worked perfectly. The surprising thing was how fast the new one spun. I didn't try it on just one battery but feel I will work fine.
My engine has only 900 hours on it. I'm sure it was rebuilt in the recent past. But who knows how old the starter was.

Interesting. I just spent the weekend at the island, and I ran solely on one battery. Left it in position 1 from the minute we left till we got back. No starting issues, no charging issues, and I only recharged the system with the engine once. It took about 35 minutes to get over 13.3 volts again. I did leave a 15W solar panel on it during the daytime, but doubt it did a whole lot.

because many oil recycle places will not take the oil in plastic gallon bottles.
Do a search on the net for changing oil on your engine to decide how to extract the oil.
