Do you stow your boom with the mainsail attached?

Actually keep the fuller straight with mast with a bungee, not to the side as it causes binding at the mast step.

This must be whats causing the problem. I have a roller fuller and it typically is just flopping to the side. Ill try keeping it on centerline next time.
