Monday and Friday my friend Rufus posts be crop weather advisory.
This being Good Friday, I thought I would share his thoughts.
Good Friday 2020
Our beautiful spring weather will help to mask the dreadful disease situation dominating everyone’s life. Pun fully intended. Refill set, so here goes.
No PNW rain is anticipated over the next 2 weeks, esp west side. A late season Arctic front will slam into the Nation, east of the continental divide, stirring up quite a winter storm by late Sunday (windy! over eastern WA on Sat). For the PNW, ridging of High pressure will turn back on the warm afternoons next week, so expect temps to pop back into the mid-to-upper 70s after a couple cooler days this Easter weekend.
The weekend of Apr 18,19 will be a bit cooler, as marine air will push inland to tap down temps. Mild & pleasant, nonetheless. Dry wx continues the week of Apr 20-24, although that threat for NE showers on Thu Apr 23 (noted above) will also usher in cooler temps (relative to the 70s) for all of the PNW as the last weekend of week of Apr gets underway.
The dry April will trigger Water Management teams to lay out irrigation lines and keep soil moisture adequate for crops. Pollination programs will be booming. Go Bees.
