Do you have a Catalina 30 with U-bolt chain plates?

I tried to put this in Catalina Owners, but it wouldn't let me select it. (?)
There is a Cat 30 on my dock with a detached lower. I don't know if the owner has spotted it.
Appears to be an early 80's boat.
It looks like the U-bolt was skimpy to begin with, and then it was eaten by years of water intrusion.
I've included a picture (first pic). Also, for comparison there is a picture of an older Catalina (2nd pic), I think '70's with the hullside nav lights, and it appears to have the rod style chain plates.
Plus a picture of a Cat 320 (3rd pic) also on my dock, with a proper chain plate on the lower. BTW, the 320 has a surprisingly substantial rig. Very robust.
Additionally, I've included pics of one of my shroud chain plates (last pics) mostly because I like to post pictures of my boat, and not because of any relevance :-D

Just a heads up in case anyone can use the observation. ---See something say something.

You might want to leave a note on your dock neighbors boat drawing attention to the impending failure.

That's pretty scary! I have those U bolt chain plates on my C30 2000, MKIII. I'm definitely going to be giving them an inspection this weekend!

I have them. They're 5 years old at this point because they were replaced.

I'd let the office know so they can tell the owner.

If you have a Seafarer, check the same thing. A lot of them (maybe all, I don't know) had all the shrouds attached that way, with a u bolt attached to only the deck with a backing plate - no attachments to hull.
