Our Midship 25 (Parker-Dawson 26) was wrecked in a storm on the Sea Of Cortez and we have located a '78 Balboa 26 for sale in San Carlos. She looks good to me! In the Midship, the poorly designed keel lift system was ALWAYS troublesome and not very sea-worthy. I see reports here of Balboa keels simply dropping out of the boat which does not inspire much confidence..Can the Balboa set-up be maintained so it can be relied on or is this boat just another week-end lake sailor not suitable for coastal cruising...We launch and recover our boats from a private ramp without much pitch, so we need a boat that rides low on her trailer..Thanks for any input..
