Do I need to anitfreeze the bilge if....

I live on Lake St. Clair(i.e., the sixth great lake, a joke), anyway, in previous years I have had a wet bilge and consequently poured red antifreeze in to prevent it from freezing. However, this year I have managed to keep the bilge dry all season and it would make sense to me that I should not have to pour the antifreeze in this year. I will be checking the boat periodically throughout the winter and was wondering if anybody out there has any comments or thoughts on this matter. Thanks.

If you truely have a "DRY" bilge you will not need to antifreeze it. However cheap insurance to put a couple of gallons in it for peace of mind.

If water would get in, for any reason

you will be glad that you put some anti-freeze in the bilge. As you know, all water will end up in the bilge, and winter can take it's toll.

To my mind, a $2 jug of anti-freeze is cheap insurance. Just pump it out in the spring.
