A friend and I are thinking of investing in the Dr. Shrink kit and shrink wrapping our Pearson 422's ourselves. (We have both been quoted $800 for the job at our two yards. It seems that we can do it for MUCH less than that ourselves.)I've seen demos and watched them do it at the yard and it doesn't seem to be "rocket science".One question I have is how to reach up to the top of the ridge pole with the heater at the beamy part of the boat?Does anybody have recommendations for/against??Derek

I've done my own shrink wrap for 4 years. I use an extension ladder or stand on a vessel next to mine. The kits they sell appear to be very pricey. Wholesale you can buy 20' wide plastic shrink wrap at about a buck a foot in rolls of 150'. A good gun is essential and they are not cheap but they pay for themselves quickly. Find someone with an account at Kellogg that will get you a deal like cost +10%

how about a good tarp? I use 1" pvc pipe with plastic zip ties to hold it to the stantions I put all the pipes on standing straight up then I pullthem together and make a bow over the boat and tape them together then run 2x4 the lenth of the boat with up rightsmade from 2x4s and pull the tarp over with three ropes and tie them off .then I tie ropes throw the gromest. wax the boat in the fall so the tarp dose not rub on gellcoat get atarp bigenought so the gromets dont rub on the top sides dont pul tarp to tight let it blow alittle so itshakes the snow off I can stand on the cabin top aand walk around and do boat chours. cost is about $80for tarp 1"pipe$2 zip ties $10 get uvp $30 for wood Two rolls of tape I have this stuff laying around.I like to cover my boat so I can do it when I want andI no Its done right.
