Congradulations to the White Sox! *5 Sorry New Englanders, Californians and Texans ... this was Chicago's year from the start! Though I was born a Northsider, which makes me a Cubs fan (I can't help it - it's compulsory), my natural animosity has worn off since I've lived in the east for a long time now (I just hate the Mets more). Technically, I can't be a White Sox fan, but I am happy they won and White Sox fans waited a long time for this - it was about time. I also have to admit that White Sox fans know baseball better than the average Cubs fan. ;D

It was nice.

A few years living in a Chicago suburb as a kid made me a White Sox fan, and I remained for years as intense a fan as you can be from 800 miles away. Strikes, free agency, etc., ruined it all and I no longer cared for any of it. But it was nice to resurrect the old feelings for a couple of weeks. As they say, it's not the players, it's the uniform. In a day or so I'll no longer care. Mac p.s., I wonder what Aparicio is doing these days.

What's Baseball?

I don't remember much about baseball. What I do remember is something about Brooklyn and Dodgers! From an old Yankee...

What's Baseball?

Baseballs are balls that you throw ahead of the boat in thick fog - no splash means that you turn back NOW. :)
