1}Poop and pee.
2} A concoction of household / industrial toxic chemicals that run off from the street?
I'm sure none of its good in copious amounts, but this street run-off is extremely harmful.. You will see more written about this in the next decade as city planners try new designs as they change back the way mother nature controlled run-off..
Travelling in Asia - I came to a village where they had many outhouses porched over the lake where many people peed and pooped.. Catfish swarmed underneath the toilets and ate up the feces which in turn fed the catfish which in turn fed the village..

Joplin MO is at least 700 milles from the nearest place in which you could legally dump a tank...that is, in open ocean in the Atlantic or Gulf at least 3 miles from the nearest point on the whole US coastline! Unless you're brain dead you have to know you can't use your macerator pump..So why are you even asking about pulling it???? Just do it!

Just judging by the posts here I'd say it'd be unfair to paint us yachties as irresponsible slobs when we're obviously much more concerned about this issue than even the municipalities in which we live. I don't think any of us would opt to do the wrong thing-- we're all thinking about it, but the ever-changing playing-field of unreasonable and indecipherable laws makes it difficult even to know what that should be.
I won't say here what system I have on Diana, nor how I use it; but it's idiotically simple and inexpensive, and as responsible as I can make it given how I use the boat-- and given how little it ultimately matters. And no, the CG and EPA don't have a problem with it, so (for now) it's good to go.
My point about the Lectra-San system is that it's sad the legislators and others do not realize their own systems are far inferior to what real-live responsible yachties already have on their own boats.Not allowed in areas designated as NDZ.. Many up this way had to reconfigure or rip them out completely when Casco Bay was designated an NDZ. Very frustrating!!
