Well I am really crazy with this thing now. I left yesterday for the NFCC race/cruise to St. Augustine Flordia from Mayport (Jacksonville). Again, two hours of smooth running then fuel starvation occured again. Changed the filters and primed the system and off again with three hours this time of smooth running. I got vessel assist to tow me back through Jacksonville (there are 6 bridges to negotiate and current around 3-4K) While I was waiting for the tow I bled the system again and got the engine running. I kept it running while on tow and everything was great. Once past the bridges no problems. The air was cool and night set in and both the Yanmar and my generator was running great. Only during the daylight hours past 85 degrees does this problem occur. The fuel is fresh (reconditioned last year) however it could be fouled pickups. The copper washer is a great idea as I have bled the system a few times. Thanks for all the good ideas. Has anyone ever put a secondary fuel pump to keep the line charged with presure? I will work with the fixes you all suggested and then it will be up to the mechanic to make this work. Rs

Bleeding

I added a fuel bulb like those found on out board engines to engine side of the fuel shut off valve. I found the engine can quickly be bled and restarted. In a similar problem with an air leak that took some time to find. Iwas able to keep the engine running by pumping the bulb while underway. I found my air leak at the filter hose connection. I replace the fuel lines to correct the problem.
