On my 15 foot Spindrift Rascal after lowering the mast and disconnect the forestay rigging should I leave the port and starboard rigging connected to boat?

I'd leave it connected to the mast and secure it against the mast with bungee cords or some light line or webbing. Watch out for the turnbuckles or other fittings at the end of the mast, on some boats they can vibrate off the rigging and be lost. Keeping the shrouds and forestay and backstay tied to the mast will keep them straight and help to prevent kinks.

On my old 15ft boat, I'd leave the shrouds attached to the boat and mast. Just carefully coil them in big loops and attach the loop to the mast with velcro, bungee, or ties.

Trailering my Mariner (19ft), I have found that if I leave the shrouds attached at the chainplates, they will beat the cabin and deck when towing at speeds > 40mph. So for the longer trailer trips, I detach the shrouds from the chainplates, and leave attached at the mast. For shorter trips, I prefer to leave them on to save time during launch and retrieval.

Forestay and backstay are disconnected from boat anyway as part of the mast raising and lowering. They are left attached to mast for trailering.

just my experiences, may or may not apply in your case
