The mainsail on my 27 Hunter has been unused, unloved, and wrapped up tightly under the sail cover for quite some time. It now has an unsighlty greenish stain near the head that has been resistant to oxy-clean and other common household cleaners. It was left to soak in a mild bleachwater mixture in the tub to little benefit. I am now contemplating placing it in the back of my pickup, and running it through the high pressure carwash. Does anyone have any better thoughts on this topic? Thanks in advance, and smooth sailing, psych911@aol.com.

Hi Tom thanks for joining the Doyle Forum.Mildew left unchecked can stain a sail as if it was commercially dyed.In our cleaning process we do occasionally use a pressure washer for stubborn stains.However, go easy and good luck.

Hey Tom your a wag!

I can just imagine it now with your ute going through the drive through car wash.Can I suggest you mount the mast horizontal (of course) on the top of the ute and shoot the boom out and then hank on the sail.It would be like a huge hang glider.Ha Ha. Can't wait to see the photos.By the way I thought Larry's idea of the spa was excellent as long as there are a few naked maidens to assist.
