Does anyone know a good proceedure for cleaning and treating a Sunbrella fabric dodger? I would like to do it with the dodger up and installed. What about waterproofing sprays like Scotchguard? Thanks.

Clean Dodger
I recently purchased a used dodger off an '81 Catalina 30 to put on my "77 Cat 30. It was very dirty so I asked the canvas maker what to use. He recommended using washing machine soap and warm water. I did just that with a scrub brush and after two washes it was a total different sight. Not perfect but very acceptable. He aso advised me to go to West Marine and obtain a water proof liquid. I cannot remember the name of the stuff but it was a number like "301". If anyone is wondering I paid $295.00 for the dodge which has a perfect stainless frame and new windows. 'NATURAL' Soap
Cleaning. I called Sunbrella and I was told that warranty will be void if I used anything but their product or Natural Soap which you can purchase at one of those natural food and pill shops. After washing, give it good rinse, and then spray some more Scotchguard when dry(for canvas)
