This past winter I decided to leave the boat in the water, in our marina in the middle Chesapeake Bay. All went well until I recently took the boat out -then, disaster! This once speedy vessel (1990 H35.5) is no longer able to take on any boats (even got passed yesterday by a Catalina 27 - ye gods!)This new-found frozen molasses syndrome also is evident when under power - top speed of 5.4 knots with the Yanmar 27 at 2800 RPM. My only thought is that my hull has picked up enough crud over the winter to drop us down by almost 2 knots. I am curious if anyone else has seen this significant a loss of speed due to dirty bottom illness?
