I have an 81' H30 with the L shaped lounge and table. I can lift the table top off easily, but the 2 supporting silver pipes don't seem to want to come out. Do these pipes screw out or lift out. Also, I assume that the table converts to a double berth, but how does it go together?

I have an '82

The silver legs are wooden on my boat - obviously an "upgrade" by a previous owner. The legs should lift out - you should probably use a twist-lift motion to free them - and might want to squirt a little WD-40 around them to get things going. The dinette does form a double - under the port settee should be a full-length board that has two hand-holds - pull out the wooden support bracket at the aft end, and lay the board on the bracket and a wooden "tab" in the "L." You should have two identical cushions on the port side, about two inches thick - lay the top cushion over so it mirrors the bottom, and the indention in the forward starboard corner should lay neatly along the compression post. I had new cushions made with thicker padding here - 3 inches. The second cushion now resides in the captain's berth until needed, and it makes the double much more comfortable. Hope this helps.

a little corrosion?

Fred: If you setup is anything like the H'31's there is a receiver in the cabin sole. They are made of some type of cast metal (alum.?). The post is chrome plated (steel?). Once these are in there for several months, the post starts rusting. I would squirt a little (or a lot) of WD-40 in there to get it loose. Then you should be able to wiggle it out. Once you get it cleaned up you can use some silicone or other metal lubricant to keep the part from corroding again. Just pull it out now and then and relube it.

Thanks guys!

Thanks to both of you. I thought they lifted out, but I have broken things in the past by making them operate the way I thought they should instead of the correct way. I will probably get a strap wrench and some lubricant and see if I can free them up. Thanks!
