Does anyone know the availability of hardware to attach to an air floor dinghy that will allow the dink to be carried on standard, over the stern, davits?
Thanks!

What dinghy and is the air floor removable? If the floor is removable, insert a couple of retractable curtain rods to secure the floor in place while on davits.

  • The transom is secured with pad eyes or similar on the solid transom.
  • The bow is secured by glue-on patches. Some use the towing eyes, but further back and on the inside of the tubes gives better leverage.
  • You may need a spreader.
  • You will probably need chafe patches; apply these as soon as you see the wear locations.
  • Trice under the dingy for added security and to take load off the eyes when sailing.
The greatest vulnerability is that if it looses any air it bends and becomes insecure.

Spreader. If the davits are tall enough, a bridle will do. This has a hard floor, but you can see the glue-on eyes. Originally it was suspended only by the eyes, which worked.
