has anyone installed a dingy motor lift on a Hunter 35.5? I am thinking of purchasing a Forespar Nova Lift but am not sure if it fits.

If you

can be just a little creative and make an extension pole for your boom. You can use your main halyard which has far more lifting power and more importantly is already there. Run the halyard over a fixed block attached to the end of a pole extended out from the boom. This will easily allow far more weight to be hoisted aboard easily. Best of all it will cost far less and you wont have to have 'more stuff' onboard.

We like ours

We have one on our 356 but did not install it. I believe it is a forespar and it just sits on a tennis ball like "Mount" on the rear lazarette lid and slides through a metal ring attached to the rail. We typically leave it there most of the season. It works reasonably well. It does save my back from having to lean out over the transom which is a good thing.

Garhauser Lift

I installed the Garhauser one this off season on my 356. Like the forespar has the ball mount on the transom and rail attachment. I went with the extended reach one to clear the swim lockers and it has worked great. Pretty easy to install, toughest was fitting into the stern locker to put on the backing plate and nuts. I looked at the forespar one and kato one i believe, the garhauser was the best value in my opinion. T
