Why type of a dingy?

RIB? - Tow it
Inflatable w/hard floor - upside down on the foredeck (difficult to assemble on boat)

Inflatable w/soft floor - inflate it when you need it

Inflatable

We carry an inflatable, and blow it up when we need it.

The foredeck is big enough to hold a small dinghy at the price of blocking the view forward.

We chartered a C&C 30 with an arrangement to clip onto the stern of a rib near the waterline, then haul the bow up over the stern. That would be my second choice, because of the load it puts on the stern and reduced visibility.

Towing works, but it's a lot of drag.

Your best bet would be tow it as you do not have enough room to conveniently carry it on deck once inflated. The best boat for you would be one with an inflatable floor as it will be lighter and take up less rigid space. Had a 27 and carried a 9' inflatable. The whole thing fitted perfectly in a #1 genoa sail bag. When deflated it would get shifted from the V-berth to cabin floor as required. To inflate aboard I would move the boom outboard and release the main sheet line to open up a space on top of the companionway hatch. After inflating I would attach the main halyard to a bridle on its bow and raise enough to clear the lifelines before releasing in the water. I could actually remove the halyard once the tubes hit the water with the boat still in an upright position. Just attach a safety line to the briddle and walk the boat to the stern. Bringing back on board is just the opposite. I got myself a 28lb 2 stroke outboard that I could with one hand lift on and off the boat and I was good to go. Had great use of it and it would not take more than 10 minutes to launch or retreive. Good luck.
