dingy bottom fouling

Two questions: 1. After a 5 week L. I. trip, during which the dingy was towed, not surprisingly the bottom was very foul. Anyone have a suggestion for removing the barnacle's "footprint" from the PVC West Marine "Zodiac"? 2. I have read about using Desitin and a wax for helping with preventing or slowing the fouling. There is also an inflatable bottom paint. Does anyone have any experience with this West Marine product? My thinkling is that it would be messy and get all over the boat if the dingy is brought on board.

Pam cooking spray

Someone I met cruising the ICW many years ago suggested spraying "Pam" cooking spray on the bottom of my Avon. It does not eliminate growth, but I didn't have to haul and scrub as often as before - and the growth came off easier - a 3M scrubbie, or a plastic putty knife with the edges rounded for a really foul bottom. I don't know what Pam does to the material, but my Avon is over 10 years old and still is fine!
