Where is the best place to keep or place a dinghy on an H31? Lets assume for this discussion it is not an inflatable or we just don't wish to deflate and store.

Foredeck

I store an 8 foot Walker Bay dingy upside down on our fore deck of our 85 H31 while at dock. I use four closed cell foam blocks, the type that are used to protect car roofs when carrying canoes as "chocks". These press fit over the dingy's gunnels and keep the dingy from scratching the deck. A line from each stern corner of the dingy back to the cabin top handholds behind the mast hold the dingy securely against the mast., while, A line pulled tight through the bow eye of the dingy to each of the H31 fore cleats pulls the dingy forward keeping her pulled tight down on the deck. I don't sail this way, because I am sure the genoa sheets would foul. Therfore, when sailing I tow the dingy. I ue the Spinaker Halyard and the main winch to single hand getting the dingy on and off the fore deck.
