I'm considering buying a nesting dinghy and storing the dinghy on the coachroof underneath the boom on my B473. Has anybody else chosen this storage method? What do you think are the pros and cons? For me, I have a roller furling main so I will not need to stand on the coachroof to reef the sail. The nesting dinghy I'm considering is 10' 2" long but the forward section disconnects and stores inside the stern section. When nested, the dinghy is 67" x 53" x 16" high. It will fit perfectly between the two cowl vents forward of the main sheet traveler and between the traveler and the three big "sunlight" windows aft of the mast. I prefer a hard sailing dinghy over an inflatable. The only other option is a hard sailing dinghy I store on davits (there is not enough room on the foredeck). One other question, I have some pictures of a 473 (mine is due for delivery in three weeks) and it looks like there is a padeye in the middle of the coachroof underneath the middle of the boom. What is this for? Thanks.
